Paxton is a British manufacturer with over 30 years’ experience, securing around 30,000 buildings each year globally with its products.

For door entry, Paxton’s “Entry” range is designed to be straightforward to deploy and easy for occupants to use, making it a strong option for commercial door intercom systems and managed residential properties.

We install Paxton door intercom system solutions across North London, with a focus on tidy installs, reliable door release, and a clear handover so staff or residents actually feel confident using it.

What Paxton Entry Is (and Why It’s Practical)

Paxton describes Entry as a door entry system that can run standalone or alongside Net2 and Paxton10, and it’s built around three core components that auto-detect on setup: an external panel, an internal monitor, and a door control unit.

That structure is helpful because it keeps systems predictable, scalable, and easier to support over time.

Monitor Choices to Suit the Site

Paxton offers three monitor types, with options for video or audio, with or without a handset, and wall or desk mounting for flexibility.

On the “Standard monitor with handset”, Paxton highlights a clear user interface on a 4.3” capacitive touchscreen, plus the ability to answer calls from a monitor or the Paxton Entry app.

Installation and Cabling

Paxton notes that Entry components interconnect using Cat5 / RJ45 patch cables, can utilise existing network infrastructure, and uses PoE to run power and data over the same cable.

That can be a real advantage in commercial refurb projects where you want a neat install and minimal disruption.

External Panels: Choosing the Right Entrance Hardware

Paxton Entry gives you a couple of good panel options depending on how “tough” the entrance needs to be, and how clean you want the finish to look.

  • Standard panels suit most offices and managed residential blocks, with practical mounting options (flush, surface, and rain hood) and an outdoor rating designed for year-round exposure.

  • Vandal Resistant (VR) panels are the better pick for entrances that see heavier footfall or a higher risk of damage. Paxton rates these panels to IK10 impact resistance and IPX5 weather resistance, and they’re built around a more robust design.

In terms of day-to-day access, VR panels are designed to cover the basics without adding separate hardware: built-in keypad + proximity reader, plus pan/tilt camera functionality for a better view at awkward mounting angles.
